Happy New Year!

Cheers to 2008!
I started the year off like many of you, sick and in bed for two weeks. I'm on the mend and can finally post about the incredible New Years Eve wedding I had the privilege to plan and coordinate at(my favorite hotel)the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach. Tricia and Armando were a blast to work with this past year. I have over 900 emails from Tricia this year... yep, 900. She was so detailed, and in such a fun way. Who else has a custom gobo that reads T & A ? or a limo bus with a stripper pole?It was hard to give up spending New Years Eve with my husband & our friends, but I was with the next best group, my wedding family. I had the company of the wonderful Marc from Ashley Video, and my good friend Jen from photoJENic. Robert and Dan from Invisible Touch did the lighting and gobos throughout the Monarch ballroom and Amanda from Fantasy Floral provided the over the top bling and floral fantasy, complete with a manzanita tree for the placecards. Angel from Fusion Linens provided all the linens, including the faux fur that I had him specially make and Gretel from Classic Party Rental took care of all my rentals including a light up bar & tables and the rest of the Designer 8 lounge furniture. The always cheerful and energetic Peter from Vive, Inc. was the dj & emcee, and true to form, he kept the dance floor packed until the wee hours of the morning. Great Dane provided the wedding cake, topped with the Bride & Groom lladro. Yay, it didn't fall! The wonderful Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach team of Neda and Sarah along with their catering staff provided top notch service, and always with a smile. The Hyatt staff is always a pleasure to work with. Neda and Sarah surprised me and upgraded my room to an ocean view suite. We worked so late into the night that a bunch of us stayed at the hotel and went to brunch the next morning (ok, afternoon). Did I mention I love the Hyatt? :-) Did I mention there was a photo booth? Did I mention there was a candy station? How about the confetti drop?(Thanks John & Jack from ConfettiFX) These pics aren't the professional ones, those will come later, but I wanted to show you a sample of the wedding.
Enjoy, and Happy New Year!

The wedding was a remarkable combination of so many wonderful vendors! Not just anyone could have orchestrated such a detailed evening! It was a pleasure and is always wonderful to be one of your vendors!

Wow! The linens, furniture, lighting effects, etc., were all a perfect fit. It was a great place to be---as good as any posh Vegas club on New Years!!

Marla is a joy to work with! I deal with hundreds of event planners and if you are a bride rest assure that all your needs will be taken care of to the greatest detail, not many other planners are as organized or professional as Marla. Look forward to the next event.

Here comes #901!! Hehehe!!

So, we are officially back into the country!!
I was having a hard time sitting down to compose an email to you. I am sitting here, thinking about our wedding night. I can not express in words what an superb job you did. You were amazing. You took care of sooo much.
I know that all of the extras were because of you (extra lighting, bigger confetti, more of everything). I remember walking into Mariners. I remember looking at the dance floor, and seeing the design that I emailed you months ago. I was actually thinking the night before the wedding that I wished I sent that to the lighting people. Little did I know that you had already taken care of it for me. I remember walking on the lighting design, thinking "how did she do it?" You actually took care of everything for me. Armando and I are still trying to figure out how you managed to get our champagne flutes back up to our room before we got there!?!?!

Here are a few quotes from our closest friends:

These are just a few of the things that people have said. People actually noticed how awesome you are. Armando and I, to this day, get comments about you. All of our family and friends always mention you when talking to us about the wedding!!

I can honestly say that the best decision I ever made was picking you.

I feel like saying "Thank You" is not enough... If there was a better word than "Thanks" then that is what I am trying to say.

I will never forget everything that you did for us, and I will always be grateful.

You truly took this roller-coaster of ups and downs (also known as planning a wedding), and gave me a hand to squeeze during the scary dips. I will forever be grateful to my fabulous Marla for giving me that hand....

Thank you...

T

All of the comments are true! As sick as you were, you not only rose to the occasion, but also made it an occasion of WONDERFUL memories to last a lifetime.

Thank you for making me a member of a remarkably Professional and Enjoyable Coordinators’ team!
